A new Early Learning Centre unlike no other - providing 132 new kindergarten places for a growing community & consolidating the site as an education precinct

Asset 1 Read More
The new Warragul Early Learning Centre will provide much needed services for three & four year old kinder, maternal child health & allied health support services for the Warragul community.

Located on a challenging sloping site, the project comprises two (2) multi-use activity rooms, lounge areas, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) spaces, staff offices, car-parking & landscaping areas. Once completed, the Warragul Early Learning Centre (ELC) project will provide an additional 132 kindergarten places.

The spatial arrangement positions northern facing learning spaces & play areas for age based learning, with flexibility to allow these rooms be adapted into one large community space as needed. Light filled staff areas, maternal child health services & lounge spaces run on axis to the playrooms, culminating as an extruded playful volume that ‘pops’ outwards into the sloping landscape.

The project has been thoughtfully designed with children in mind; shapes, colour & textures delineate spaces internally, supporting a playful & engaging transition through the learning spaces.

A range sustainability measures have been incorporated into the design including passive solar, ventilation & water collection. Co-located at Warragul Primary School, the project is transforming the area into an engaging new education precinct.
